Job Requirements

  • Possess one year of food service experience or training in an institutional hospital military or commercial food service operation
  • or twelve semester hours in food and nutrition dietetics or institutional management
  • must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R S 15 587 1 c
  • pass a drug screening test
  • possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License
  • clear a background check
  • authorize prior employer contact for PREA compliance

Job Qualifications

  • One year of food service experience or training in an institutional hospital military or commercial food service operation
  • or twelve semester hours in food and nutrition dietetics or institutional management

Job Duties

  • Prepare cook and serve meals in accordance with facility menus and dietary guidelines
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen dining and storage areas
  • supervise youth assigned to food service duties ensuring safety and compliance
  • operate kitchen equipment and follow institutional food safety protocols
  • assist with inventory storage and portion control
  • uphold confidentiality mandatory reporting and trauma-informed care standards
  • participate in PREA training and other required onboarding programs
