Job Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening test
- Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License
- Must clear a background check
- Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to crimes listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c)
- Provide complete and detailed education and experience information in the application
- Willingness to work full-time in a secure juvenile correctional environment
- Ability to supervise and train food service staff
- Compliance with all food service and operational regulations
Job Qualifications
- Two years of food service experience or training in institutional, hospital, military, or commercial food service operation
- Twenty-four semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, or institutional management
- Possession of a permanent or provisional Louisiana dietitian/nutritionist license plus one year of licensed dietetics experience
Job Duties
- Supervise juvenile corrections food production workers during meal preparation and service
- Oversee daily food production activities including receiving menus, preparing ingredients, and monitoring cooking methods
- Ensure proper portion sizes, food quality, and adherence to safety, sanitation, and security standards
- Direct cleaning of food preparation areas, equipment, dishes, and dining spaces
- Train new workers on food service policies, procedures, and safe kitchen practices
- Requisition, receive, store, and distribute food supplies while maintaining secure storage areas
- Maintain compliance with all food service regulations and operational guidelines
- Perform related duties to support safe, efficient, and consistent food service operations
