Job Requirements
- One year experience as Cook Specialist II or equivalent in California state service
- Two years supervisory experience over cooks and food service workers
- Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade
- Ability to plan and organize culinary operations
- Ability to supervise inmate workers
- Knowledge of safety regulations
- No Training and Development assignment considered
Job Qualifications
- Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent
- One year experience as Cook Specialist II in California state service or two years experience supervising cooks and food service workers
- Ability to supervise and assist in food preparation and cooking
- Experience in managing large culinary operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Leadership and instructional skills
- Ability to maintain discipline in a correctional setting
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, supervise, and assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving to residents and employees
- Supervise culinary workers and inmate workers
- Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of culinary equipment and supplies
- Instruct and train culinary staff and inmates
- Maintain order and supervise conduct of inmates and residents
- Ensure safety and security of personnel and property
- Perform other related culinary and supervisory tasks
