Job Requirements
- Meet minimum qualifications outlined in the class specification
- Possess valid background investigation clearance including Live Scan fingerprinting
- Provide Tuberculosis test and ongoing evaluation compliance
- Ability to work in a correctional facility environment
- Availability to work various shifts and schedules
- Use of a valid email address for communication
- Adherence to all CDCR rules and policies
- Submission of required application documents by final filing date
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in cooking and food preparation
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to instruct and supervise incarcerated persons effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work various shifts and schedules
Job Duties
- Ensure all food items needed for meals are present and in proper amounts
- Supervise the preparation of meals ensuring food meets standards for quality and wholesomeness
- Instruct incarcerated persons in cooking procedures, sanitation, and proper use of utensils and equipment
- Adhere to institutional procedures, Department Operations Manual, and Food Services policies
- Maintain a sanitary and safe kitchen environment
- Monitor inventory and requisition supplies as needed
- Enforce adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
