Job Requirements
- possession of minimum qualifications as stated in the class specification
- pass background investigation including live scan fingerprinting
- complete tuberculosis test and ongoing annual evaluations
- ability to report to work at California Health Care Facility

- foreign education must have equivalency verification
- meet minimum qualifications with unofficial transcripts if education is used

Job Qualifications
- knowledge of food handling sanitation including hazard analysis and critical control point programs
- ability to communicate effectively

- knowledge of culinary tools and equipment maintenance
- formal culinary training preferred
- military food service experience is an asset
- willingness to promote inclusivity and diversity in the workplace

- supervising cooks and incarcerated workers in food preparation
- ensuring compliance with food sanitation and safety regulations
- training incarcerated workers in kitchen safety and proper food handling
- managing the care and maintenance of kitchen utensils and equipment
- overseeing the storage, preparation, and serving of food
- collaborating with other departments and agencies to meet rehabilitative program goals
- enforcing compliance with hazard analysis critical control point programs
