Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or commercial food service management or as a Correctional Officer
  • eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • ability to work any shift including rotating or split shifts
  • willingness to work mandatory overtime
  • capability to manage offender supervision in food service operations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services
  • experience in management of commercial food service operations
  • experience as a Correctional Officer
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission

Job Duties

  • Supervising offenders working in food preparation and food service work areas
  • training offenders in food production processes
  • managing large-scale food production and service operations
  • maintaining sanitary food handling and nutritional standards
