Job Requirements

  • High school or GED diploma
  • One year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or equivalent
  • Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Ability to work any shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must pass background checks and state-mandated screenings
  • Willingness to supervise and train offenders
  • Must comply with state employment regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school or GED diploma
  • One to three years of experience in institutional food preparation and food service or management of commercial food operations depending on officer level
  • Eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Considerable knowledge of large-scale food production and food service activities
  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written form
  • Ability to maintain sanitary food handling practices
  • Experience in offender supervision preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise offenders working in food preparation and food service areas
  • Provide training to offenders on food production techniques
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Oversee maintenance of food service equipment
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and cleaning supplies
  • Communicate effectively using verbal and written instructions
  • Maintain accurate records and handle computer data related to food service operations
