Job Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
- one to three years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or management of commercial food service operations or as a Correctional Officer depending on classification level
- must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
- ability to work any shift including rotating, fixed, or split shifts
- willingness to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime
- compliance with the State Human Resources Act
- passing applicable background and qualification checks
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Working a dual role of both supervising offenders and providing food production training
- supervising offenders in their assigned food preparation and food service work areas including cooking, baking, and serving food
- maintaining sanitary food handling practices
- managing inventory levels of food and supplies requiring rotation
- ensuring the timely ordering of food products and cleaning supplies
- maintaining food service equipment
- adhering to menu specifications
