Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three years of related experience depending on officer level
  • Eligibility for state certification
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to manage offender supervision and food service operations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Compliance with state employment policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in institutional food preparation and services
  • Experience in commercial food service management
  • Experience as a correctional officer
  • Certification eligibility by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and train offenders

Job Duties

  • Supervising offenders in food preparation and service areas
  • Providing food production training to offenders
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of food service equipment
  • Managing inventory levels and ordering supplies
  • Enforcing sanitary food handling practices
  • Monitoring adherence to menu specifications
  • Maintaining accurate records and computer data
