Job Requirements
- High school or GED diploma
- one year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, commercial food service management, or as a correctional officer
- eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
- ability to work any shift including rotating, fixed, or split shifts
- willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime
- compliance with all state employment regulations
Job Qualifications

- experience in institutional food preparation and food services
- experience in management of commercial food service operations
- experience as a correctional officer
- eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
- ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms
- knowledge of sanitary food handling and nutritional values
Job Duties
- Supervising offenders performing food preparation and service operations
- cooking, baking, and serving food to the offender population
- providing food production training to offenders
- ensuring sanitary food handling practices
- maintaining and managing food service equipment
- monitoring inventory levels of food and supplies
- ordering food products and cleaning supplies on time
