Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of relevant experience in institutional food preparation, food services, commercial food service management, or as a Correctional Officer
  • Eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
  • Willingness to work various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain equipment and manage inventory
  • Ability to follow instructions and handle data accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or management of commercial food service operations or as a Correctional Officer
  • Eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
  • Considerable knowledge of large-scale food production and food service activities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage inventory and maintain sanitary standards

Job Duties

  • Supervising offenders performing food preparation and service tasks
  • Providing training to offenders in food production
  • Managing inventory of food and supplies including rotation and ordering
  • Maintaining proper sanitation and food safety standards
  • Ensuring accurate completion of food service documentation and computer records
  • Overseeing maintenance of food service equipment
  • Communicating effectively with staff and offenders
