Job Requirements

  • High school or GED diploma
  • One year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or management of commercial food service operations or as a Correctional Officer
  • Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Ability to work any shift including rotating, fixed, or split shifts
  • Capability to work mandatory overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Teamwork-oriented approach

Job Qualifications

  • High school or GED diploma
  • One year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services or management of commercial food service operations or as a Correctional Officer
  • Eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills
  • Knowledge of large-scale food production and service environments

Job Duties

  • Supervise offenders performing food preparation, cooking, baking, and serving duties
  • Provide food production training to offenders
  • Maintain sanitary food handling and preparation practices
  • Manage inventory of food products and cleaning supplies including rotation and ordering
  • Maintain and ensure proper use of food service equipment
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and supervisors
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and safety regulations
