Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three years of experience in institutional food services or commercial food service management or as a correctional officer, depending on level
  • Eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Ability to work any shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must be able to supervise offenders
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, Experience in institutional food preparation or commercial food service management, Experience as a correctional officer preferred, Eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, Strong communication skills, Knowledge of large-scale food production and food service activities

Job Duties

  • Supervise offenders performing food preparation, Provide training in food production and safety, Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies, Ensure sanitary food handling and cleanliness, Maintain food service equipment, Communicate effectively with staff and offenders, Adhere to menu specifications and nutritional standards
