Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field of study
- 5-8 years of experience in event planning preferably in a corporate or executive setting
- Experience with budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and active listening skills
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours to support events
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and execute executive and board-related events including meetings, retreats, workshops, and political meetings
- Oversee on-site logistics such as setup, registration, and guest experience
- Manage post-event wrap-ups including follow-up communications and debriefs
- Oversee corporate hospitality and venue management at Van Andel Arena and LMCU Ball Park including ticketing and catering coordination
- Lead the planning and execution of internal events including all-manager meetings and staff recognition events
- Develop and manage event budgets
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
- Serve as primary point of contact for event logistics among executives, board members, and external partners
- Maintain annual event calendar and implement event management tools
- Develop event communications, manage guest lists, and ensure confidentiality and professionalism
