Job Requirements
- High school degree
- bachelor’s degree in communications public relations journalism nonprofit management preferred
- bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required
- ability to lift 50 pounds waist height
- understanding of Wayside Waifs safety policies and compliance with safety procedures
- ability to work independently and multitask
- ability to collaborate in a team environment
- commitment to mission of Wayside Waifs with collaborative and curious mindset
- ability to approach sensitive animal welfare aspects with professionalism empathy and resilience
Job Qualifications
- 2 years in special events fund development project management or communications in non-profit environment
- computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office products
- excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills
- ability to take initiative coordinate with others and follow through
- ability to proactively problem solve and find creative solutions
- social media and marketing expertise
- strategic thinker
- excellent customer donor service skills with commitment to creating a culture of philanthropy at Wayside Waifs
- experience working with high-level donors and corporate executives to engage in fundraising process
- preferred 5+ years in special events fund development or non-profit environment
- donor database management experience with Raisers Edge and online event or auction management software preferred
- managing and implementing large scale special events over 500 attendees with gross revenues over 350000
- documented history of growing special event fundraising revenue
- 3+ years working with individual donors and corporate sponsors including identification cultivation solicitation and recognition
Job Duties
- Lead logistics for Wayside Waifs special event fundraising program
- collaborate with Donor Relations Team to plan and implement events including the Fur Ball Gala and Strutt With Your Mutt
- coordinate event logistics, promotions, vendor relations, volunteer recruitment and supervision
- manage marketing and promotion of third party and external events
- manage Wayside Waifs LinkedIn profile and communications
- recruit, train, and manage Community Ambassador Volunteer Committee
- serve as primary relationship manager for corporate donors
- supervise Community Engagement Coordinator
- manage event invoicing, donation reconciliation, and donor correspondence
- perform other duties as required
