Job Requirements

  • associate's degree
  • one year of recreation sports officiating and programming experience
  • must be flexible to work evening and weekend hours
  • able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • must have a valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Qualifications

  • associate's degree
  • one year of recreation sports officiating and programming experience
  • bachelor's degree preferred in physical education, recreation, sport management, or related field
  • certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred
  • experience in health and wellness programming within college or university setting preferred
  • experience in training and evaluating student employees preferred
  • active involvement within NIRSA or affiliated organizations preferred

Job Duties

  • actively participate in all college activities which lead to student retention and completion
  • coordinate, organize and implement student recreational and intramural programs
  • implement and coordinate the Cross-Campus Games and the annual Crosstown Championship events
  • organize and help execute the TJC Summer Camps Programs
  • complete necessary administrative tasks
  • recruit, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate student assistants for intramural and camp programs
  • develop and oversee written and digital materials for policies and procedures for intramural and camp programs
  • supervise appropriate use, inventory, storage and purchases of intramural equipment
  • develop internal media plan for intramurals and recreation programs
  • maintain and update information on website and social media outlets
  • collect and analyze data for all recreational programs
  • assist in planning, budgeting and monitoring expenses of intramural and camp programs
  • travel with teams to various intramural tournaments
  • host and attend events on and off campus to promote the Apache Rec Center and TJC's Summer Camps
  • oversee closing duties of the Apache Rec Center
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Director for the Apache Rec Center
  • work non-traditional hours centered around rec sports schedule and events typically from 1pm to 9pm
