Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Ability to concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously in busy atmosphere with continual interruptions
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems and improve service
  • Ability to deal sensitively and tactfully with customers and staff
  • Ability to operate various types of library equipment

Job Duties

  • Schedules and monitors the Post Event Center spaces at the Clark Family Library
  • Serves as the point person for patron reservations of Event Center spaces
  • Serves as the on-site person for events hosted with other library departments and various library partner organizations
  • Assists with Author Series events
  • Oversees day-to-day operations of the Post Event Space
  • Maintains master schedule/calendar for meeting room reservations
  • Communicates with Event Center Porter and custodial staff regarding setup and maintenance needs
  • Creates and manages detailed timelines and schedules for event-center activities and staff
  • Works with library departments and partners to schedule meetings and programs
  • Assists with AV/tech setup for events and patron reservations
  • Communicates Meeting Room policies and scheduling changes to outside organizations
  • Provides excellent customer service for patron reservations
  • Collaborates with Clark Family branch staff for equipment, tech support, and setup requests
  • Oversees event setup and acts as primary contact for troubleshooting during events
  • Assists with load in, catering/vendor arrival and setup, tech support, and back-of-house services during events
  • Hosts smaller author events, introduces visiting authors, and assists with large event room setups
