Job Requirements
- Conducts all activities in alignment with AZA standards and guidelines, relevant laws, and safety standards
- ability to work in extreme weather conditions typical to west central Florida
- ability to use radio, telephone, and computer for communication and following instructions
- physical ability to sit, bend, stand, and walk
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- A.A. in hospitality, event management, communication, business, or related field
- basic A/V knowledge preferred
- experience in hospitality, attractions, or theatre preferred
- ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences
- discretion in handling confidential information
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- flexibility and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work in labor-intensive and outdoor conditions including nights, weekends, and special events
Job Duties
- Assists with the coordination and execution of all consumer events including Creatures of the Night and Christmas in the Wild
- works primarily on weekends and nights during the consumer events season
- assists with installation and strike of all consumer events
- collaborates with zoo staff to develop timelines and operating guidelines for consumer events
- maintains comprehensive documentation of all consumer events
- maintains professional relationships with internal teams and external vendors
- ensures timely and accurate communication with guests, staff, and leadership
- assists with Costume Character program coverage and hosting
- assists with zoo-wide audio/visual needs including troubleshooting and communication with AV Coordinator
- ensures adequate inventories of event supplies
- performs other duties as assigned
