Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in events, races, or track & field
  • Ability to work 15-18 weekends annually
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and potential travel
  • Strong budgeting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Emergency decision-making skills
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in events, races, and track & field
  • Knowledge of race registration platforms, timing software, and track & field platforms such as athletic.net
  • Experience in race and event production
  • Ability to work 15-18 weekends a year
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
  • Ability to write and manage program budgets and stay within the approved budget
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills
  • Ability to make solid decisions in emergency situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including telephone etiquette and computer skills
  • Prior successful supervision of staff and volunteers preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, coaching, scheduling, and ongoing development
  • Know and review all emergency procedures and respond immediately in accordance with YMCA policies
  • Train all staff on emergency compliance and complete related reports as required
  • Enforce all staff policies and procedures consistently
  • Apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines for program areas and maintain accurate health department records
  • Assist in setting up program sign-ups and updating the YMCA website with accurate event information
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment to ensure track safety and operational status
  • Communicate with Track & Cross-Country staff to maintain proper staff-to-participant ratios within budget
