Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in event coordination or related field preferred
  • Ability to work 15-20 weekends annually
  • Availability for evening and weekend work
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
  • Commitment to YMCA core values of caring honesty respect and responsibility

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in events races and track and field
  • Knowledge of race registration platforms timing software and track and field platforms such as athletic.net
  • Experience in race and event production
  • Ability to work 15-18 weekends annually
  • Availability to work evenings weekends with possible travel
  • Ability to create and manage future budgets and stay within budget
  • Excellent human relations skills and communication with staff and members
  • Ability to make solid decisions in emergency situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use
  • Prior experience supervising staff and volunteers preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff including hiring onboarding role-modeling coaching scheduling and ongoing development
  • Know and review all emergency procedures responding immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and training staff
  • Enforce staff policies and procedures consistently
  • Apply safety rules policies and guidelines for program areas and maintain accurate records
  • Assist department administration with program sign up and website updates
  • Attend all staff meetings and in-service training
  • Maintain inventory of equipment ensuring track areas are safe and functional
  • Communicate with track and cross-country staff maintaining proper staff to participant ratio within budget constraints
