Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must obtain the Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or the Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) once eligible
- One year experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment safely
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing and other movements required
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices and protocols
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies
- Ability to work a second shift schedule, Monday through Friday
- Regular caregiver type status
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting requirements in healthcare settings
- Experience in using personal protective equipment

- Ability to coordinate staffing and departmental operations
- Understanding of safety protocols and risk management in healthcare environments
Job Duties
- Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units and equipment
- Performs duties demonstrating working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles
- Adheres to organization safety, risk management and infection control standards
- Maintains all appropriate logs and checklists current
- Cleans and disinfects equipment and areas according to procedures and recommendations
- Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives
- Schedules and coordinates staffing of department
- Responsible for quality of service provided by the department
- Oversees operations including provision of supplies
- Delivers customer service and/or patient care that promotes goodwill
- Maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
- Complies with laws, regulations, policies and procedures supporting corporate integrity
