Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cook preferably in Vietnamese or Asian cuisine
- strong understanding of traditional Vietnamese cooking methods, ingredients, and flavor profiles
- ability to handle knives and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a positive and cooperative attitude
- strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple orders simultaneously
- knowledge of food handling, safety, sanitation regulations, and possession of a valid food handlers card
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or as a line cook preferred but not required
- strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks
- knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards
- ability to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays
- attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality products
- ability to obtain a valid food handlers card prior to working
Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of Vietnamese dishes including pho, banh mi, spring rolls, and vermicelli bowls
- wash, cut, marinate, and prepare ingredients such as fresh herbs, vegetables, meat, and seafood
- utilize Vietnamese cooking techniques including boiling, grilling, and steaming
- follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency
- maintain a clean, organized kitchen compliant with food safety and sanitation regulations
- set up, maintain, clean, and break down kitchen machinery and equipment
- complete routine operational checks and documentation
- assist in managing stock levels and notify kitchen manager when supplies are low
- coordinate food preparation with kitchen staff, cashiers, and management
- adapt and learn new dishes or modify existing recipes based on preferences or seasonal ingredients
