The Memphis Sports & Events Center (MSEC) is a premier multi-use facility located in Memphis, renowned for its versatility in hosting diverse sporting events and community gatherings. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a line cook
- Knowledge of food preparation and safety practices
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Availability to adhere to uniform standards including non-slip shoes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working as a line cook
- Experience in catering preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and food service
- Strong understanding of recipe execution and reading production sheets
- ServSafe certified or willing to receive training
- Capable of producing consistent product in a timely manner
- Excellent listening, communication, and customer service skills
- Effective planning and multi-tasking abilities
- Self-motivated with high energy and strong verbal communication
- Understanding of food safety practices including temperature logs and cleaning/sanitizing paperwork
Job Duties
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations
- Working a station in the cafe such as grill, salad, or food preparation
- Cooking orders according to POP recipes and safety standards
- Assisting chefs in food preparation and culinary tasks
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
- Ensuring the highest level of food quality with the culinary team
- Ensuring proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen and food service areas
