Job Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months line cook experience ideally in a full-service restaurant
- Must have meat slicing experience for deli cook positions
- Able to safely operate microwave, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat and bread slicers, check printer, kitchen display system and scales
- Flexible and long hours required at times
- Ability to stand during entire shift in warm, damp environment
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds as needed
- Must maneuver safely throughout walk-ins and kitchen
- Able to handle knives, meat slicer, digital scales, automatic dish machine and chemical solvents
- Ability to reach overhead, carry sheet pans, bend below waist, crouch and communicate intentions to co-workers
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months line cook experience preferably in a full-service restaurant
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment such as knives, meat slicers, steam tables, gas ranges and convection ovens
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including long shifts
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Capable of performing physical tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Prepare classic New York deli recipes
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely including gas ranges, convection ovens, meat slicers, and knives
- Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ensure cleanliness and proper food handling procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate food preparation
- Assist with inventory management and stock supplies as needed
