Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months line cook experience ideally in a full-service restaurant
  • Must have meat slicing experience for deli cook positions
  • Able to safely operate microwave, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat and bread slicers, check printer, kitchen display system and scales
  • Flexible and long hours required at times
  • Ability to stand during entire shift in warm, damp environment
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Must maneuver safely throughout walk-ins and kitchen
  • Able to handle knives, meat slicer, digital scales, automatic dish machine and chemical solvents
  • Ability to reach overhead, carry sheet pans, bend below waist, crouch and communicate intentions to co-workers

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months line cook experience preferably in a full-service restaurant
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment such as knives, meat slicers, steam tables, gas ranges and convection ovens
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including long shifts
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare classic New York deli recipes
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely including gas ranges, convection ovens, meat slicers, and knives
  • Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper food handling procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate food preparation
  • Assist with inventory management and stock supplies as needed
