Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year cook experience in a full-service restaurant
  • deli cooks must have meat slicing experience
  • ability to handle and operate microwave, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat and bread slicers safely
  • able to stand during entire shift in warm, damp environment
  • capable of exerting up to 50 pounds
  • able to maneuver safely throughout walk-ins and kitchen during shift
  • able to handle and operate knives, meat slicer, digital scales, automatic dish machine, and all chemical solvents safely
  • ability to reach overhead, carry and transport sheet pans, bend below the waist, crouch, and communicate intentions to co-workers
  • flexible and long hours required at times

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare classic New York deli recipes with speed and efficiency
  • operate kitchen equipment including microwave, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat and bread slicers
  • maintain food quality and safety standards
  • handle meat slicing for deli cooks
  • manage plating and presentation of dishes
  • ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
  • communicate effectively with team members during shifts
