Job Requirements

  • must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English
  • must be able to listen attentively and comprehend verbal instructions in English
  • must have basic math skills
  • must be able to work independently with appropriate supervision
  • must have a minimum of one year experience in food preparation
  • must be able to visually differentiate colors for food safety
  • must be able to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes and loud noise
  • must have working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
  • must be able to exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours including walking, bending, stooping and using finger dexterity
  • must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for up to four hours
  • must be authorized to work in the United States full-time
  • must be able to work swing shifts with rotating weekends and holidays according to union contract

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • basic math skills
  • minimum of one year of food preparation experience
  • working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
  • ability to visually differentiate colors for food safety
  • customer service skills
  • professional demeanor
  • experience working with diverse and multi-cultural staff
  • culinary arts training or certification preferred
  • managerial ServSafe certification preferred
  • experience in high volume ala carte operation preferred

Job Duties

  • assist in the preparation of all food items in a timely manner as per daily menu or worksheets
  • assure correct portion sizes and proper temperature of prepared items
  • maintain a sanitary kitchen and follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • greet customers respectfully and assure customer satisfaction
  • serve customers and provide excellent customer service
  • communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • work under the direction of the cook and supervisory personnel
