  • high school diploma or ged preferred
  • previous kitchen or food service experience preferred healthcare setting a plus
  • basic knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling practices
  • ability to follow recipes menus and supervisor instructions

Job Duties

  • assist the cook with food preparation including washing cutting measuring and assembling ingredients
  • help prepare meals according to menus recipes and therapeutic diet orders
  • assist with cooking tasks such as portioning plating and temperature checks
  • set up meal trays and assist with meal service
  • ensure food is prepared and served following proper sanitation and food safety guidelines
  • clean and sanitize kitchen equipment work areas and utensils
  • wash dishes and assist with trash removal
