Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation or dietary services
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of hygiene practices and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and therapeutic diet instructions
- Strong attention to detail in labeling and portion control
- Good communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and staff
- Ability to maintain temperature logs and documentation
Job Qualifications
- Ability to supervise dietary aides in meal preparation, serving and kitchen operations
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment such as cheese/meal slicer, blixer, food processor, griddle and ovens
- Knowledge of proper hand washing techniques and hygiene care
- Familiarity with food storage, handling procedures and sanitation standards
- Ability to maintain documentation such as temperature logs and food substitution records
- Previous experience in a dietary or food service role
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Responsible for food preparation, how to time dishes, and at what temperature
- Ensure that foods are prepared and served with regards to nutritive value, flavor, appearance and temperature
- Therapeutic diets are served as written by dietitian
- Maintains proper portion control during meal preparation and serving
- Follows meal schedules to coordinate with program plans
- Ensures all necessary ingredients and supplies are available for the next meal regardless who is scheduled to work
- Prepares enough food for double portions if needed and required substitutions
