Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
  • Two years of successful work experience in food service or kitchen operations
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Must complete KeepSafe and Human-Trafficking training offered by The Salvation Army

  • Two years of successful work experience in food service or kitchen management
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently
  • Pleasant and compassionate interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Bi-lingual preferred
  • Completion of KeepSafe and Human-Trafficking training by The Salvation Army

Job Duties

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of planned menu items
  • Adjusting standardized recipes for large quantity cooking
  • Planning a menu and cooking process to produce complete meals on time and at proper temperatures
  • Picking up food donations
  • Managing inventory, intake, and reports
  • Managing food distribution in Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen, cafeteria, pantry, and restrooms while adhering to health department and ServSafe standards
  • Maintaining and updating ServeSafe certificate
  • Communicating updates and changes with Corps Officer
  • Maintaining and supervising volunteers list and activities
  • Performing related duties as assigned
