Job Requirements

  • prior experience in cooking and food preparation
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate point-of-sales systems
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to supervise staff and volunteers
  • valid driver’s license for offsite supply procurement

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise subordinate staff and volunteers
  • coordinate kitchen operations at the Friendly Cup Cafe
  • purchase, sell, and store food and supplies
  • prepare, bake, and cook basic food items and meals for breakfast and lunch service
  • assist with food menu development and supply requisition
  • ensure compliance with health codes pertaining to food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene
  • operate the point-of-sales system, count daily revenues, and maintain cash records
  • maintain pantry of canned and dry goods and kitchen equipment
  • drive offsite to procure food and supplies
  • perform other related duties as assigned
