Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid PA Criminal Background Clearance
- Valid PA Child Abuse Clearance
- Valid FBI Criminal History Background Clearance
- Ability to work part-time hours, 4.5 hours per day for 187 days per year
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow directions and work safely with kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge in the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation and food safety is preferred
- ServSafe preferred
- Cooking experience preferred
- General working knowledge of computers preferred
- Strong math skills preferred
- Must demonstrate the ability to be highly structured and organized and have good communication skills
- Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History Background clearances within the past twelve (12) months
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with established procedures and direction of the Head Cook
- Assist the Head Cook in estimating the quantities of food to students and staff
- Actively participate in the serving of food to students and staff
- Assist and participate in the necessary cleanup of all cafeteria-related areas
- Maintain and practice required standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Become knowledgeable about the overall operation to insure continuity and consistency of service in the event of personnel absence
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of safe operation of all kitchen equipment
- Interact with students and staff in a courteous and positive manner
- Actively participate in activities designed to improve the school lunch program
- Perform other duties reasonably related to the Food Services function as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal and/or Food Service Director
