Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one-year cooking or baking experience required
  • Able to read and write English and follow oral and written directions
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work with and around equipment that generates heat, steam, cold, etc
  • Able to follow recipes to prepare food
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of HACCP and applicable food codes
  • Demonstrates appropriate knife skills

Job Duties

  • Cook and season food for patients, employees, guests, and visitors following established recipes
  • Prepare and store food in accordance with HACCP principles and applicable food codes
  • Safely use, clean, and care for kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Accurately manage position paperwork including production sheets and forecasting documents
  • Follow correct hand hygiene procedures and use gloves when handling ready-to-eat foods
  • Utilize appropriate communication scripting and collaborate with internal customers such as cafeteria staff and supervisors
  • Prepare, assemble, serve, cook, or bake food and beverages per guidelines, meeting time deadlines for service
