Job Requirements
- Food Handler's Permit in required counties
- Fingerprinting clearance card or eligibility to obtain
- Background screening
- Licensure verification if applicable
- Reference check
- Drug testing
- Tuberculosis testing
- Employee health screening conducted after hire
- Ability to move, lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
Job Qualifications
- Valid Food Handler's Permit in required counties
- Ability to understand and follow food safety standards and dietary guidelines
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- Basic math skills for portion control and inventory
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the Dietary Manager
Job Duties
- Prepare food according to established facility menus and dietary budgets
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner following food safety standards and federal and state guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Adhere to portion control and minimize food waste
- Assist with inventory management and proper storage of food items
- Collaborate with dietary staff to meet special dietary needs and preferences
- Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements including Food Handler's Permit and screenings
