Job Requirements
- Desire to work in a camp kitchen
- good character, integrity and adaptability
- desire and experience working with children
- ability and willingness to obtain food handlers certification
- ability to learn to do tasks as assigned
- ability to accept supervision and excellent communication skills
- ability to work well with others at camp
- enthusiasm, patience, and self-control
- current Food Handler or Serve Safe certification
- successful completion of background screening
- acquire and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire
- complete Redwoods online training modules prior to start date and annually
- physical ability to perform essential job functions including bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, standing, walking
- willingness to work nontraditional hours
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- standing for extended periods
- exposure to kitchen heat and humidity
- safe handling of kitchen equipment including sharp knives
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Work with Food Service Supervisor to train Food Service Workers
- safe food preparation, cleaning and cutting as required
- cook, fry, boil, broil, roast, BBQ, steam meat, poultry, and or vegetables
- supervise kitchen staff, cooking, cleanliness, and scheduling of personnel in Food Service Supervisor's absence
- wash dishes, glasses and silverware by hand or machine
- sweep and mop kitchen and dining hall
- take out trash from kitchen and dining hall to dumpster
- wash pots and pans, as needed
- clean spillage in kitchen or dining hall
- help in any area of kitchen, dining hall or camp as requested
- attend all staff meetings, required training sessions and special events
- other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor
