Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • availability to work full-time 12-hour shifts
  • weekend availability
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • good physical stamina
  • willingness to learn and adapt
  • excellent attention to detail

Job Duties

  • prepare and plate meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements
  • follow modified diets such as low-sodium, diabetic, mechanical soft, and pureed
  • ensure meals are served on time and in appropriate portions
  • maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
  • properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies using FIFO
  • monitor food quality, freshness, and temperatures during preparation and service
  • assist with meal planning and communicate supply needs
  • clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each shift
  • comply with facility policies, safety procedures, and resident confidentiality
  • work cooperatively with caregiving staff
  • work and think quickly under pressure
