Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Formal training as a cook or vocational training in institutional food preparation and production desirable
  • One year experience as a short-order cook or relevant training required
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in environments exposed to heat, cold, noise and cleaning chemicals
  • Compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Formal training as a cook or vocational training in basic institutional food preparation and production desirable
  • One year experience as a short-order cook or equivalent training
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Physical stamina for demanding kitchen duties

Job Duties

  • Prepare and produce quick cooking food items in quantity or as ordered according to instructions
  • Perform duties following established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food preparation area
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Handle kitchen equipment and tools safely
  • Manage physical demands such as lifting, standing, and repetitive motions
