Job Duties
- Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes
- help to make sure the station is stocked with supplies for the meal
- work with standardized recipes following instructions to prepare and serve food
- prepare food items according to menus and portions under direct supervision
- receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils
- carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas
- weigh or measure ingredients
- use manual and/or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods
- wash, peel, and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
- assure the kitchen is equipped with necessary food and cooking items for meals
- inform supervisors when supplies are low or equipment is not working properly
- clean galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas
- remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
- train and assist new employees
- assist in other kitchen departments as time permits
