Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED as of August 1, 2019
- Good communication skills in English both reading and speaking
- Strong interpersonal skills, respectful, reliable, and team-oriented
- Current Food Handler’s Permit from Kansas City, MO, Independence, Jackson County, or Clay County or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- Ability to follow recipes, scale portions, and operate large kitchen equipment
- Physical ability to handle the demands of a busy kitchen including lifting and carrying hot containers

Job Duties
- Prepare meals from standardized recipes for patients, residents, staff, and visitors
- Operate large kitchen equipment like ovens, mixers, steamers, and more safely and confidently
- Use portion scales, measure ingredients, and ensure food consistency and quality
- Follow all food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
- Communicate with the kitchen team and supervisors to keep meal service smooth and on time
- Lift, twist, bend, and move containers of hot food
