Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Meet selective factor of Food Protection Manager Certification
- Completion of Introduction to Correctional Techniques training
- Successful background investigation and security clearance
- Pass drug test
- Willingness to undergo physical examination and urinalysis
- Ability to meet career transition program requirements if applicable
- Commitment to upholding the rule of law and American constitutional values
- Ability to supervise
- Aptitude for work with prisoners
- Must meet maximum entry age of 36 or prove prior federal law enforcement coverage
- Willingness to complete a 1-year probationary period
Job Qualifications
- Sufficient training and experience to perform duties of the position

- Knowledge of food preparation principles and sanitation
- Knowledge of cooking in large quantities
- Understanding of special and modified diets such as high protein, low cholesterol, low fat, calorie-restricted, and sodium-restricted diets
- Food Protection Manager Certification from an ANSI-accredited provider
Job Duties
- Provide supervision and instruction to inmate workers assigned to cooking, butchering, baking, dining and dish duties, vegetable preparation, and cleaning duties
- Provide continual training to inmate workers on food production, presentation, and sanitation
- Oversee receiving, storing, and issuing of all food and non-food items
- Maintain security operations including key, yeast, knife, and blade control
- Ensure inmate accountability and conduct routine contraband searches
- Collaborate with correctional staff to maintain institution security
- Perform all cooking duties including preparation, seasoning, and portioning of food
