Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a cook or similar role
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and food safety standards
- Capacity to perform administrative duties
- Willingness to work collaboratively with clinical nutritionists
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas

- Familiarity with HACCP procedures
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and special diet orders

Job Duties
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to each patient
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms and reports
- Work with clinical nutritionists and dietitians to implement recommended dietary changes
- Ensure all food procedures adhere to established policies and regulations
- Assist in establishing a food service production line for timely meal preparation
- Process diet changes and prepare meals according to planned menus
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and visually appealing
- Serve food according to portion control procedures
- Prepare food for therapeutic diets and special diet orders
- Ensure meals are ready to be served at designated times
- Oversee dishwashing and daily garbage removal
- Adhere to all kitchen, dining room, and site HACCP procedures
- Ensure proper food storage and rotation
- Prepare and serve nutritional snacks
- Provide appropriate cutlery and equipment with each meal or snack
- Assist Director of Dietary Services in reviewing dietary treatment plans
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to patients who refuse served meals
