Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in an institutional kitchen or commercial food preparation establishment
  • Current Maricopa County Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm, with summer hours Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • May require some evening and weekend hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in an institutional kitchen or commercial food preparation establishment
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safe food handling procedures, and compliance with health codes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Three years or more experience in a commercial food and beverage setting in a culinary position

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food items for breakfast, lunch, and catering services in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
  • Delivers exceptional customer service during food service operations in the café and at catering events, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work areas in compliance with health department regulations and organizational policies
  • Takes product and supply inventories and stocks stations
  • Accurately completes daily preparation checklists, temperature logs, and other required back-of-house documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
