Job Requirements

  • Have experience as a cook or in a related role
  • possess knowledge of basic food preparation principles and food safety regulations
  • able to follow recipes in food service
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • capable of physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • willing to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment when required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • food service experience with the ability to follow recipes
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
