Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience
- knowledge of food safety standards
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing
- commitment to workplace safety
- availability to work flexible hours
- ability to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
- measures, weighs, mixes, chops, trims, and peels food items
- safely uses utensils including knives
- operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- uses various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines
- stores food properly following safety policies
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor
- adheres to safety and sanitation procedures
- ensures security of company assets
