Job Requirements

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service preferred
  • Knowledge of modified diet food preparation preferred
  • Experience using commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Preferred experience in customer service
  • Preferred knowledge of modified dietary food preparation
  • Preferred experience with commercial cooking equipment

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and cook foods for cafe, patient and/or catering settings
  • Lead culinary team in the absence of leadership
  • Follow recipes and instructions in food preparation
  • Prepare bulk and large scale food items including specialty meals and catered items
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
  • Manage product quantity and rotation
  • Interact with customers in catering, retail outlets, or patient care settings
  • Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, and operate ware-washing machines as needed
  • Provide after hours supervision supporting a disciplined environment
