Job Requirements
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts

Job Qualifications
- One year of experience working in a kitchen preparing meals in large quantities
- Completion of a certificate program in culinary arts, restaurant management, or related field
- Ability to prepare food with minimum waste
- Ability to train, supervise and assign work to kitchen workers and inmates
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safe food storage practices
- Ability to communicate clearly and organize work assignments
- Basic math skills and ability to maintain records
- Ability to work safely in a high-security jail facility
- Good moral character, integrity, and dependability
Job Duties
- Coordinate preparation, cooking and serving of meals for large groups in a central jail kitchen
- Train and oversee a crew of inmates assigned to kitchen duties
- Estimate food requirements and instruct inmates in meal preparation
- Monitor inmate adherence to instructions and kitchen safety practices
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Enforce security procedures and report disciplinary issues
- Use kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, and slicers
