Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare dietary services preferred
- Ability to read and write English
- Knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
- Ability to work flexible scheduled hours between 6 am and 8 pm
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare food according to dietary needs
- Must be non-exempt employee eligible to work scheduled hours
Job Qualifications
- Demonstration of core values such as love, kindness, honesty, goodness, fairness, and respect
- High school diploma preferred but minimum ability to read and write English required
- Previous experience in dietary department of health care facility preferred
- Ability to prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Knowledge of special diets, seasoning, cooking times, and temperature controls
- Ability to estimate food quantities and manage leftovers
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook, season, and serve meals including meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruit, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries
- Comply with meal schedules and dietary guidelines
- Follow standard recipes and make independent decisions based on experience
- Handle food safely, understanding hazards and proper food-handling techniques
- Estimate food quantities, control portions, and limit waste
- Prepare foodstuffs by washing, trimming, cutting vegetables and meats
- Taste and observe food to ensure quality and conformity with recipes
- Serve food accurately and check meal trays for completeness
