Job Requirements
- Prior culinary food service or restaurant experience
- San Bernardino Food Handler's certification
- Ability to work 10:30 am to 6:30 pm shifts per diem with open availability on weekends and holidays preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to adhere to strict sanitation and food safety standards
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of food preparation techniques
- General knowledge of sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately
- Experience in cooking for large groups
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role is preferred
- Experience working in a senior living or healthcare setting
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Familiarity with special diets including diabetic low-sodium and gluten-free
- Experience with menu planning
- Previous experience as a cook required
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines
- Prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs including those with allergies or other restrictions
- Bake a variety of desserts and baked goods
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to strict sanitation protocols
- Follow all food safety guidelines including proper food storage and handling procedures
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure all meals are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperatures
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and ensure resident satisfaction
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor
