Job Requirements

  • Must have previous cook experience with skills in special diets including diabetic, puree, etc.
  • prior culinary, food service, or restaurant experience
  • San Bernardino Food Handler's certification
  • working knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • general knowledge of sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen environment
  • thorough knowledge of food safety regulations
  • ability to follow recipes and menus accurately
  • experience in cooking for large groups
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a similar role is preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines
  • prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs, including those with allergies or other restrictions
  • bake a variety of desserts and baked goods
  • maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict sanitation protocols
  • follow all food safety guidelines, including proper food storage and handling procedures
  • monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • ensure all meals are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperatures
  • collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and ensure resident satisfaction
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • maintain a positive and professional demeanor
