Job Requirements

  • One year of cooking experience required
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to work a seasonal schedule with varying days and hours
  • Ability to prepare food following federal, state and corporate standards
  • Must adhere to safety policies including the use of protective gloves and proper lifting techniques
  • Must maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and storage areas
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks related to kitchen work
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of cooking experience
  • Ability to prepare food according to standardized recipes
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards including HACCP
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Basic record keeping and inventory management skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from the area worked
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures in line with HACCP standards
  • Shows personal commitment to safety and abides by company policies and procedures regarding safety equipment and techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
