Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year cook experience
  • Minimum of 1 year job longevity in previous food service role
  • Ability to work 32 hours per week including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift food items
  • Willingness to follow strict dietary requirements and food safety standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Compliance with Indiana University Health equal opportunity policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of food preparation experience
  • ISDOH approved Food Handler certification under Title 410 IAC 7-22 may be required
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed production sheets and dietary instructions
  • Strong attention to food safety and hygiene practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare regular and therapeutic diet hot and cold food items for retail patient and catering
  • Assemble food items according to production sheets under direction of Chef Lead Manager or Supervisor
  • Follow strict dietary guidelines to prepare patient meals
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Monitor food inventory and report shortages
  • Assist with food preparation for catering events
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
